Camp Staff Development Program

The Camp Staff Development (C.S.D.) program provides an opportunity for Scouts to learn about working on staff at
Kia Kima. Participants live, eat, and sleep as staff members for two weeks, rotating through different program or support areas of camp. In addition, several training programs and hands-on exercises during the two week period provide participants with excellent insight into camp staff life. Scouts participating in the C.S.D. program have an advantage in applying for staff the following year.

Apply to the C.S.D. Program

There are several requirements to be eligible for the C.S.D. program:

• Be a registered member of a Scouts BSA troop or Venturing crew;
• be at least 15 years of age before arriving at camp or have completed the 9th grade;
• have experience in unit or community leadership;
• be in good physical condition (a current medical form is required);
• and have an interest in instructing Scouting skills to others through a rigorous training course.
